Overnight pacesetter Adam Scott survived abject weather conditions to shoot two-under-par and maintain the clubhouse lead at the US PGA Championship.
The Australian had opened up a three-shot advantage on the rest of the field, but a couple of bogeys coming in prevented Scott from pulling away from the chasing pack.
His round of 68 at Oak Hill leaves him seven-under-par for the tournament, just ahead of his playing partner Justin Rose, whose front nine was hampered by the heavy rain in New York.
However, after the turn, the US Open champion rolled in six birdies to card a four-under 66 and move to within one shot of a fellow Major winner from 2013.
