Rory McIlroy has recorded a hole in one during a second-round 66 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
The world number one also hit five birdies to move him to within two shots of leader Martin Kaymer, but it was his ace on the 177-yard 15th that prove to be the highlight of another low-scoring day on Friday.
Kaymer followed up Friday's score of 64 with a faultless round of 67 to hold a one-shot advantage over Belgium's Thomas Pieters.
McIlroy holds third place on his own, while Englishman James Morrison recorded six birdies to ensure that he is in contention heading into the weekend.
However, after a disappointing opening round, a 68 on Friday wasn't enough for world number two Henrik Stenson to make the cut.
