Tiger Woods warns opponents that he is coming to "kick everyone's butt" at the US Open in Merion this week.

Tiger Woods has warned that he will be "trying to kick everyone's butt" once the US Open gets underway this week.

Woods will be looking to claim his 15th Major and admitted that he will not be taking the event lightly following its return to Merion, Pennsylvania.

"I would obviously like to put my name there [on the trophy] by the end of the week. It is just about trying to kick everyone's butt," The Mirror quotes Woods as saying.

"That, to me, is the rush, that's the fun, the thrill. Anyone who wins this week will certainly be a part of history. This is the USGA's crown jewel."

The world number one has been paired alongside Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott in the first two rounds of the tournament.

The championship is the first time it has been held at Merion since 1981.
