Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia took a step towards ending their war of words last night, shaking hands on the driving range during preparations for the US Open.
A disagreement between the two players at last month's Players Championship quickly escalated, with Garcia aiming a now infamous fried chicken jibe at Woods at an awards dinner in London less than a week later.
Garcia began the process of building bridges on the practice range at the Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania yesterday, offering to shake hands in the pair's first meeting since that remark.
Woods responded in a relatively civil exchange, with the Daily Mail reporting that the pair have agreed to meet for a longer chat later this week.
Both players are due to give press conferences later today ahead of the season's second Major tournament, which gets underway on Thursday.
