Natalie Melmore has acknowledged that England's pairs team will have to be on the top of their game if they are to remain in the Commonwealth Games.
Melmore and teammate Jamie-Lea Winch played two games this morning - narrowly beating Canada 14-13, before drawing against Wales to finish in second place in their group.
"We are looking forward to the quarter-finals tomorrow, it's straight knockouts so we are going to have to be on top form to get through," the 25-year-old told reporters.
"It's actually quite nice to play two games one after the other so you are not having to go back to the Village. Obviously we're disappointed not to come out with a win at the end, as Wales with their shot advantage, now go on to top the group.
"But there are tough teams everywhere, so it doesn't really matter in the end."
England won gold in the event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
