Adrian Sutil: 'I want to race at Le Mans'

Adrian Sutil reveals that he is targeting the Le Mans 24 Hours and the World Endurance Championship after losing his Formula 1 seat.

Former Formula 1 driver Adrian Sutil has revealted that he is targeting the Le Mans 24 Hours race and is keen on a move to the World Endurance Championship [WEC].

The 31-year-old lost his seat at Sauber as the Swiss team elected to replace him and 2014 teammate Esteban Gutierrez with Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr for next season, leaving Sutil to pursue other options.

"There are plenty of opportunities in categories that are really interesting - it doesn't need to only be Formula 1," Sutil told Autosport.

"Maybe the year after Haas is coming to Formula 1, and this is an interesting project. The WEC could be an interesting project.

"Everyone is saying good words about it, and that's how I feel about it. The cars are quick and probably similar to Formula 1. I definitely want to do the 24 Hours of Le Mans in my career, and I'm looking at certain Formula 1 drivers who did that step and are very happy."

Sutil made his debut in Formula 1 in 2007 and has started 128 grand prixs, but has never finished on the podium.
