Man United injury news: Could Ayden Heaven make spectacular return against Nottingham Forest?

Manchester United defender Ayden Heaven could allegedly resume training with the Red Devils shortly after the international break.

Manchester United defender Ayden Heaven could reportedly resume training with the Red Devils shortly after the international break, with the issue that he suffered against Leicester City last weekend not believed to be serious.

The 18-year-old was stretchered off the field in the early stages of the second period against Leicester following a collision with Patson Daka, and there was immediate concern surrounding the teenager.

Initially, it had been feared that Heaven could miss the remainder of the season, and he left the King Power Stadium in a protective boot ahead of being assessed by the club's medical staff.

The ex-Arsenal youngster took to Instagram earlier this week to reveal that he is "doing really well and recovering fast" in a hugely positive social media post.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Heaven's injury is not serious, and there is a strong chance that he will resume training with the Red Devils shortly after the international break.

Heaven 'hands Man United major injury boost'

Man United are back in action against Nottingham Forest on April 1, and it is difficult to imagine him being available for that match, but he could potentially be involved in the Manchester derby on April 6.

The 20-time English champions will then head to Lyon for the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final on April 10, with a Premier League game against Newcastle United then coming before the second leg of the European clash on April 17.

Man United are also hoping to recover Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro during the international break, but Lisandro Martinez will not play again this year due to a severe knee injury.

CEO of Kitman Labs Stephen Smith said earlier this week that Heaven could be back on the field in as little as three weeks.

"It looks like it could be an ankle ligament sprain as his lower leg looks like it wobbles underneath him. Equally, it could be a Peroneal Tendon Strain," Smith told Express Sport.

"The peroneals protect the ankle from rolling, so he might have potentially strained one of them when he landed as the ankle started to wobble. He is holding his leg mid-shin, exactly where the muscle belly for the peroneal tendons is.

"Alternatively, it could be a minor leg fracture, hairline fracture, or a stress fracture. Again, given where he is holding his leg, this could indicate a fibular fracture. Typically, with these types of injuries, it can vary between three to six weeks depending on the specific issue.

"Issues of this nature should not be a concern for his long-term prospects, but it does highlight how difficult it is to step up to regular first-team football at a young age. Data and insights will play a vital role in his rehab and return to play."

Heaven has impressed since arriving at Man United

Heaven has made a huge impression since arriving from Arsenal in January, featuring on four occasions for the club, with his Premier League debut coming against his former club on March 9.

The teenager played the full 90 minutes against Real Sociedad in the Europa League on March 13 before being given another start against Leicester in England's top flight, and he had been outstanding for Ruben Amorim's side before his enforced withdrawal.
