Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has denied that he was involved in an angry Twitter exchange with an Arsenal fan.

The Frenchman does not have the best relationship with Gunners supporters following his decision to leave the Emirates for City in 2011.

According to 101greatgoals.com, online posts have emerged of an account attributed to Nasri having choice words with an Arsenal fan through direct messages on Twitter.

One post shows the Nasri account responding to the fan by calling him a "piece of shit" and telling him to "go cry to your mother".

After these posts were published, Nasri decided to take to the social networking website to suggest that someone has created a fake conversation.

He wrote on his verified page: "Guys get a life i never send direct messages to anyone so you need to stop with this fake discussion."

City currently sit one point behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League table.
