Paddy Power pay out on Chelsea winning Premier League title

Bookies Paddy Power pay out on Chelsea winning the Premier League title six months before the season's conclusion.

Bookmakers Paddy Power have paid out on Chelsea winning the Premier League title, six months before the campaign is due to end.

Around £400,000 has been issued to all punters today who decided to back the Blues for title glory.

Jose Mourinho's side currently hold a four-point lead at the top of the table following an unbeaten 11-game start.

Due to the Blues' prolific form, Paddy Power have already called the title, which is the second time that they have done so this early following their correct prediction almost 10 years ago when Chelsea scooped the crown in the 2005-06 season.

One punter is due to receive £22,400 after placing a bet of £16,000, while 44 gamblers have placed £1,000 or more on Chelsea to be crowned English champions in May 2015.

The West London outfit, who have been boosted by the summer arrivals of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas, have earned nine wins and two draws in the league so far this season.
