Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli reportedly tries to seek commission from T-shirts sold by Umbro displaying the forward's famous phrase 'Why Always Me?'.

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has reportedly attempted to get commission on T-shirts made by Umbro displaying the slogan 'Why Always Me?' on the front.

The controversial Italy international made the phrase famous after emblazoning the words under his City shirt and displaying them when he scored against Manchester United last season.

The global sports brand then began to sell replica shirts and Balotelli is believed to have tried to get a cut of the sales.

Man City kit man Les Chapman told The Mirror: "Mario had asked me what he could put under his shirt for the match. I said 'you can't have anything about the fireworks or anything having a go at United.'

"After about 10 minutes he said, 'Why Always Me?'. Brilliant. And the next thing we know Umbro have started selling them. Mario asked me to call them about commission but they said nobody owns words."

An Umbro spokesman claimed that they have no records of Balotelli trying to seek commission.
