Mike Ashley taking Scottish Football Association to court

Mike Ashley and the Scottish Football Association will go to court in February regarding Dave King's position as chairman of Rangers.

Mike Ashley has lodged a court challenge to the Scottish Football Association's decision to approve Dave King's appointment as the chairman of Rangers.

South African-based businessman King was cleared by the governing body to take up the position in May, despite the fact that he had previously been convicted of tax offences.

It was a verdict that Ashley, who is a shareholder of the Scottish Championship club, opposed at the time and he has now demanded that a judicial review is carried out to pass King as a fit and proper person to carry out his responsibilities.

The case will be heard on Thursday, February 4, 2016.
