Six-time Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius has been hit financially due to his long-running murder trial, a court has heard.
The double amputee has been convicted of the culpable homicide of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, whom he shot dead through a toilet door at his home in Pretoria, South Africa in the early hours of Valentine's Day last year.
This week, the 27-year-old, who was cleared of murder, has been attending his sentencing hearing at the High Court in Pretoria, with a maximum 15-year jail sentence a possibility.
In today's final arguments by the defence and prosecution, Pistorius's lawyer Barry Roux told the court: "He lost a person he loved, his self-respect, most of his friends, his career, all his properties, all his money. He's lost everything."
Judge Thokozile Masipa, who could impose a fine or suspended sentence, is reportedly expected to deliver her judgement next week.
