Victory over Brisbane Broncos would ease 2014 pain, says Shaun Wane

Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane says that he wants to beat Brisbane Broncos to ease the pain of last year's World Club Challenge defeat to Sydney Roosters.

Wigan Warriors want to ease the pain of their 2014 World Club Challenge defeat when they host Brisbane Broncos tonight, according to head coach Shaun Wane.

Twelve months ago, Wigan were defeated 36-14 by Sydney Roosters, before losing the Grand Final to St Helens in October.

"The history between Brisbane and Wigan is fantastic and it's one apiece in the World Club Challenges so it's a winner-takes-all type of game," Wane told the Rugby Football League website.

"We just need to make sure we do better than we did last year and play for the 80 minutes. It still hurts me and it won't leave me until we do it again. That's why I'm glad we've got the opportunity this week.

"Their experienced players are very talented players. They've got some real good strike power."

Wane has previously said that he is "desperate" for victory over the Broncos.
