Daniel Hourcade: 'Ireland win a dream come true'

Daniel Hourcade hails Argentina's performance as they beat Ireland 43-20 to reach their second Rugby World Cup semi-final.

Argentina coach Daniel Hourcade has hailed his side's performance in their 43-20 victory over Ireland as a "dream come true".

The Pumas opened up a 17-0 advantage and never relinquished their lead as they beat the Six Nations champions to a place in the last four.

However, speaking after the game, Hourcade suggested that his team's participation in the Rugby Championship has helped to developed his country's game.

He told reporters: "We have played in the Rugby Championship for the last four years and this has given us the pace to be used to play at this level on a regular basis. I'm very happy obviously. We've met our second objective, which was to play seven matches at the World Cup.

"We really want to develop. Sometimes it's not about playing the whole 80 minutes, but the beginning and the end of the match, so we're very happy."

"I feel very proud about the way we played and the way we won. And also the way we played at the end because we did everything we could to avoid conceding a try."

Argentina play Australia in the last four after the Wallabies edged out Scotland 35-34.
