Northampton Saints forwards coach Dorian West has claimed that head coach Jim Mallinder has not applied for the England job.
Stuart Lancaster is currently acting as an interim coach until after the upcoming Six Nations.
"I don't know whether he's applied. I don't think he has," West told BBC Radio Northampton.
England begin their Six Nations campaign against Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday, February 4.
