Eddie Jones pleased with England attitude

England head coach Eddie Jones praises his side's attitude after getting off to a winning start with a 15-9 victory over Scotland in the Six Nations.

England head coach Eddie Jones has praised the attitude shown by his side during their 15-9 Six Nations triumph over Scotland this afternoon.

The Red Rose began their new era with a hard-fought victory at Murrayfield, getting Jones off to a winning start thanks to tries from George Kruis and Jack Nowell.

Jones admitted that England were unable to play exactly to their gameplan, but was pleased with how his side adapted to a "difficult" test.

"I was pleased with the attitude of the team. We wanted to go out and play some positive rugby but we were a little bit off our game," Jones told reporters.

"The refereeing was difficult so it was never going to be a free-flowing game. We had to adjust but the way we did in the second half was terrific. It became a set piece defence game but I thought we excelled in that. Our second-half performance was quite commanding."

England continue their Six Nations campaign against Italy in Rome next weekend.
