Gloucester bounce back from two losses to beat Exeter 19-24.

Gloucester have bounced back from two consecutive losses with an 19-24 win at Exeter this afternoon.

Freddie Burns's fifth-minute try and ensuing conversion put Gloucester four points ahead of the home side after Chiefs fly-half Gareth Steenson's penalty in the first minute had given them an early lead.

Steenson added his second penalty of the half after Hoani Tui helped his side to retake the lead after 15 minutes. However, a late Akapusi Qera score sent the visitors in ahead at the break.

Olly Morgan got in on the action after the two sides resumed play, allowing Burns to kick his third successful conversion of the game and extend the lead to ten.

Igancio Mieres's late penalty proved no more than a consolation for the home side, before Burns responded in kind to regain the ten-point lead. Matt Jess scored a last-minute try, but Gloucester held on to take maximum points.
