Danny Care looking to prove point in Wembley showdown

Danny Care admits that being left out of the England squad "never gets any easier", which will act as motivation for the Harlequins star to up his game.

Harlequins back Danny Care has compared being left out of the recent England squad to being voted off a reality television show.

The 28-year-old, who won his 50th cap for the Red Rose last November, has found himself behind Ben Youngs and Richard Wigglesworth in the pecking order in recent times.

Care is fully aware that he has work to do for Harlequins if he is to regain his spot in the international fold ahead of this autumn's World Cup, starting with Saturday afternoon's huge Aviva Premiership fixture against Saracens at Wembley.

"It's not in my nature to be moping around and I love being out there with the England boys," he is quoted as saying by the London Evening Standard. "I will always argue my case but it wasn't to be.

"You never get used to leaving the England camp on a Tuesday - not being in the match squad - it never gets any easier. It's a bit like being in the Big Brother house and you cannot afford to slip up or you are out of it!

"Wembley is a great stage with 90,000 fans watching and despite our league position, we want to finish on a high. We need to be in the top six to qualify for the European Rugby Champions Cup and we haven't played well against Sarries in recent matches and this a chance to put that right."

Last year's meeting between Harlequins and Saracens attracted a record crowd of 83,889, and that figure will be surpassed once more tomorrow afternoon.
