The Scottish Rugby Union have backed coach Andy Robinson to continue in his role as coach of the national team.
Robinson saw his side exit the World Cup on Saturday following a loss to England, the first time the Scots have failed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the competition.
Reports had claimed that Robinson may leave his managerial job, but SRU chief executive Mark Dodson believes that he will stay on and make improvements.
"Andy knows full well what went wrong over here," said Dodson. "He will go back, talk to his coaching group and I think he's going to look at the players and the ways in which we can be more successful going forward."
The 47-year-old took over as Scotland coach in 2009.
