Rob Howley: 'Wales must raise performance'

Wales assistant coach Rob Howley says that he would like to see the team raise their performance for their Six Nations game against England.

Rob Howley has said that he would like to see Wales raise their performance by "10 or 15%" for their Six Nations match against England this weekend.

The defending champions recovered from defeat to Ireland with a crushing win over France last time out, while England will be looking to clinch the Triple Crown on Sunday.

Wales's assistant coach told reporters: "It is a Triple Crown [game] for them, and it is a game we want to win to stay in the championship. We've spoken coming into this championship about winning three [titles] in a row.

"In normal games of this magnitude your performance has to go up 10-15%, and an experienced team is hopefully able to go to that 10 or 15% because you have been there before.

"It is a totally different game one week to the next, and I suppose it is the side that gains momentum, and then under that pressure of the cauldron of Twickenham is able to continue the momentum."

Both sides must win the game to keep their chances of winning the championship alive.
