Roundup: UK Championship day three

Neil Robertson hits top form to cruise past Tom Ford, while Luca Brecel and Mark King cause shocks at the Barbican Centre in York.

Neil Robertson cruised to an emphatic victory over Tom Ford on Monday to set up a second-round meeting with Barry Hawkins at the UK Championships.

The Australian, who is the bookmakers' favourite for the title at the Barbican Centre in York, hit four centuries on his way to recording an easy 6-1 victory.

In the other afternoon match, Matthew Stevens overcame Wales's Dominic Dale by the same scoreline. Stevens will now face Marco Fu, fresh from his 6-3 win over Mark Allen.

Elsewhere on Monday, world number 12 Ricky Walden was sent crashing out by 17-year-old Belgian Luca Brecel in a thrilling final-frame decider.

Walden had led 4-2 before a number of sloppy errors allowed Brecel to battle his way to an unlikely victory.

Another evening shock saw Mark Williams go down 6-3 to Mark King. King and Brecel will now face each other in round two.
