Russian Federation's Polina Egorova has revealed her delight at her surprise gold medal win in the women's 200m backstroke at the European Games.
The 15-year-old won the race in a time of 2:11.23 to break the Games record, and Egorova has admitted that she didn't expect to claim the gold medal in Baku.
She told reporters: "I'm so happy. I hadn't thought about winning and didn't really think I would, but I tried to do my best and I knew it was a really close race.
"I didn't realise straight away that I had won until I looked up at the screen and saw that I had."
The Russian Federation have won 51 gold medals at the European Games.
