Ana Ivanovic "thrilled" with victory over Serena Williams

Ana Ivanovic says that she is delighted to have got past Serena Williams and into the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

Ana Ivanovic has said that she is "thrilled" to have defeated Serena Williams in the fourth round of the Australian Open on Sunday.

The 26-year-old Serbian got the better of her American opponent 4-6 6-3 6-3 at the Rod Laver Arena to book her place in the quarter-finals.

"It's amazing," BBC Sport quotes her as saying. "Honestly, I went on the court and I just wanted to play the best I could. I'm so thrilled."

Ivanovic will take on either Eugenie Bouchard or Casey Dellacqua for a place in the last four.
