Stanislas Wawrinka fights back to reach quarter-finals of Cincinnati Open

Stanislas Wawrinka comes from a set down to beat Marin Cilic to a place in the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open.

Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka has progressed into the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open after coming from a set down against Marin Cilic.

The Swiss pro fought back after losing the opening set to secure a 3-6 6-0 6-1 victory to reach the final eight of the tournament.

Cilic grabbed an early break point in the contest to storm to a one-set lead in 24 minutes, but Wawrinka bounced back instantly in the second by earning a triple break and leaving Cilic without a game on the board.

The third set went by the way of serve in the early stages, but Wawrinka drew first blood by snatching a break.

Cilic was close to responding instantly after pushing Wawrinka's game back to deuce three times, but the Swiss saw it through and wrapped up the match.
