Dan Evans completes Great Britain lineup for Davis Cup semi

Dan Evans is surprisingly named as the fourth and final member of Great Britain's Davis Cup team for this weekend's semi-final against Australia.

Great Britain's quartet of players for the upcoming Davis Cup semi-final against Australia in Glasgow has been completed by world number 300 Dan Evans.

Evans takes the second singles berth alongside star man Andy Murray ahead of higher-ranked duo Kyle Edmund (100th in the world) and James Ward (141st).

Ward had played in recent rounds to help GB to the semis, while Edmund is the highest-ranked of the trio and was declared fit by captain Leon Smith after suffering an ankle injury in the build-up.

Evans and Murray are joined in the team by doubles specialists Dom Inglot and Jamie Murray, Andy's brother.

The three-day contest begins with a singles tie between Andy Murray and Thanasi Kokkinakis on Friday afternoon.
