Rafael Nadal comes from a set down to reach semi-finals

World number one Rafael Nadal is through to the semi-finals of the French Open after beating fellow Spaniard David Ferrer 4-6 6-4 6-0 6-1

Rafael Nadal had to fight from a set down to beat David Ferrer 4-6 6-4 6-0 6-1 for a place in the semi-finals at the French Open.

In a repeat of last year's final at Roland Garros, the fifth seed claimed an early advantage when a double fault from the defending champion gave him a break over his compatriot, allowing him to clinch the first set.

The world number one made an attacking start to the second set, breaking in just the third game to level the match.

Nadal's earlier errors were behind him as he cruised through the third set, keeping his opponent off the scoreboard as he took a 2-1 lead.

The top seed's dominant spell continued as he looked to seal the match, quickly surging to a 5-1 lead before breaking Ferrer's serve one final time to secure the match victory.

Nadal will face the winner of the match between Andy Murray and Gael Monfils in the last four.
