Top-seed Victoria Azarenka has won her 20th straight match of 2012 with a comfortable straight-sets victory over Julia Gorges at Indian Wells.
Azarenka, who has won titles at Doha and Sydney as well as the Australian Open this year, dominated on her serve and returned with venom.
The first four games went with serve but, after the world number one had claimed the first break in game five, the Belarusian took complete control of the tie and cruised to a 6-3 6-1 win.
She will now face Agnieszka Radwanska in the last 16, after the Pole overcame Jamie Hampton.
