French Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka out at Queen's

French Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka loses in straight sets to Kevin Anderson in the second round of the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club.

French Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka has been knocked out in the second round of the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club, going down in two tie-break sets to Kevin Anderson.

There wasn't a single break of serve in the whole match, but Anderson had the mettle in both breakers to come through 7-6(4) 7-6(11) in just under two hours and reach the quarter-finals.

Both men were very comfortable on serve in the first set until the last game before the tie-break when Anderson wobbled. Wawrinka had two set points, but he couldn't take them and Anderson grabbed the momentum in the breaker to come through 7-4.

In the second, it always looked like a tie-break would be required and it proved to be full of drama as both men failed to deliver on the big points.

Anderson missed on five match points before finally sealing victory 13-11 after Wawrinka had squandered three more set points himself, including one with a simple forehand that he hit long.

It is Anderson's fourth straight win over Wawrinka, and the South African will next face either Alexandr Dolgopolov or Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the last eight.
