Aljaz Bedene exits China Open

British number two Aljaz Bedene crashes out of the China Open at the hands of the Czech Republic's Lukas Rosol.

Great Britain's Aljaz Bedene has been knocked out of the China Open by Lukas Rosol, who ran out a 1-6 7-6[6] 6-3 victor in Beijing.

It seemed that Slovenia-born Bedene's interest in the tournament would stretch into the second round at least when he dropped just one game on his way to winning the first set in 28 minutes.

However, Rosol, who famously beat Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon three years ago, rallied to win the second set in a tie-breaker, before he went on to claim the decider thanks to one break of the Bedene serve.

As a result of the loss, world number 54 Bedene will now not be able to break into the top 50 before the end of the year.
