Marion Bartoli has reached the last eight of the Paris Open after a straight-sets victory over Petra Martic.

After a tense start to the first set, the world number seven found the elusive break of serve at 5-5. Bartoli then served out the set 7-5.

The second was more straightforward for the 27-year-old as she dispatched of the Croatian 6-1.

Bartoli is considered to be Maria Sharapova's main rival to this year's title after the withdrawals of Li Na and Jelena Jankovic.
