Dominika Cibulkova overturned a one-set deficit to record a 1-6 6-2 6-2 victory over France's Kristina Mladenovic at the Rome International this afternoon.
It appeared that the world number 16 number was set for an early exit when Mladenovic broke her on two occasions to take the opening set in just over 40 minutes.
However, Cibulkova's response in the second set was positive and she claimed two breaks of her own to force a decider.
The third set went the same way as the second as Cibulkova broke on two separate occasions to reach the second round the competition, where she will take on America's Melanie Oudin.
