Nikolay Davydenko has progressed through to the second round of the Rogers Cup with a 6-3 6-3 victory over Italian Flavio Cipolla.
The 30-year-old Russian served seven aces as he disposed of the world number 114 in straight sets on Montreal's BN Court.
Davydenko, currently ranked number 29 in the world, will now take on the world number one Novak Djokovic on Central court tomorrow evening.
