Novak Djokovic reveals his relief at beating David Ferrer in Sunday's US Open semi-final at Flushing Meadows.

Novak Djokovic has admitted that he is relieved to have beaten David Ferrer in Sunday's US Open semi-final at Flushing Meadows.

With play abandoned on Saturday due to severe thunderstorms in New York, the defending champion came from a set down to see off the fourth seed and set up a final with Andy Murray on Monday.

"[Ferrer's] a great competitor, I have a lot of respect for him," said Djokovic. "It's definitely a huge relief to get through that match.

"He handled the windy conditions much better than I did but I'm just really happy to get to another Grand Slam final."

When asked about his final against Murray, the Serbian insisted that neither player has an advantage over the other.

"It's the final of a Grand Slam, there's no clear favourite," he added.

Djokovic is looking to win his second Slam of the year following his success at the Australian Open in January.
