Li Na pulls out of US Open, Rogers Cup, Western & Southern Open through injury

La Na pulls out of the US Open, Western & Southern Open and the Rogers Cup after being advised to take time off to rest her injured knee.

World number two Li Na has pulled out of the US Open with a knee injury.

The 32-year-old has been struggling to overcome the lingering issue and will also miss the Rogers Cup and Western & Southern Open as a result.

Li took to Facebook this afternoon to say: "Since March, I have been struggling with my knee and it is just not where I need it to be in order to play at the highest level.

"My medical team has advised me that I need to take some time off to rest my knee so it [heals]. I look forward to getting back on the court this fall in Wuhan and Beijing."

The news comes just a day after Rafael Nadal pulled out of the Cincinnati Open and Rogers Cup because of a wrist injury.
