Stanislas Wawrinka will "never forget" Tomas Berdych triumph

Stanislas Wawrinka says that he is "really, really happy" to beat Tomas Berdych at the US Open.

World number 10 Stanislas Wawrinka has revealed his joy after advancing to the quarter-finals of the US Open.

The Swiss came out on top in a high-quality fourth-round tie after beating Tomas Berdych 3-6 6-1 7-6 6-2 on Tuesday at Flushing Meadows.

Wawrinka, who will face Andy Murray in the last eight, is delighted to have overcome a tough clash.

"It's always tough to play against Tomas," Wawrinka told reporters. "He always puts you under pressure.

"I'm just really, really happy. Tonight is a night I will never forget."

Wawrinka broke Berdych's serve six times in a match that included 68 winners.
