Canadian freestyle skier Kelsey Serwa has expressed her delight at winning a silver medal in the women's ski cross event at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The 24-year-old from Kelowna finished just behind compatriot Marielle Thompson in Friday's final.

On Saturday, Serwa posted the below picture on Instagram, along with the message: "The last 48 hours have been unreal!

"I feel so grateful to have the opportunity to represent Canada at two Olympic Games, and to be bringing home a SILVER MEDAL!! Yahhooooooo.

"A huge congrats goes out to Marielle Thompson for keeping the Gold in Canada."
