Olympic skeleton champion Lizzy Yarnold has been forced to pull out of the World Cup after suffering dizziness during her race win on Friday.

The 26-year-old won the opening World Cup event in Calgary, but has since withdrawn on medical advice.

"I felt dizzy at the end of the first run in Lake Placid but felt okay before the second run," BBC Sport quotes Yarnold as saying. "But in our sport we are travelling at such high speeds these things happen and we have to look after ourselves."

Yarnold won Great Britain's only gold medal at the Winter Olympics in Sochi back in February.
