Team GB's Elise Christie: "I've got more in the tank"

Great Britain short track speed skater Elise Christie says that she has "got more in the tank" after reaching the semi-final of the 500m.

Great Britain women's short track speed skater Elise Christie has said that she has "got more in the tank" after progressing to the 500m semi-final.

The 23-year-old's favoured distances are the 1000m and 1500m, and she has said that the shorter distance event is a warm-up for them.

"This is a good chance to warm up and work on those weaknesses in a competition environment, because the 500m is not so important to me. I'm using this to build into the other two events.," she told reporters.

"I had a lot more speed in me. I was being patient and just trying not to get knocked over.

"I've a lot more in the tank. It's been nice to get here and just get a feel for the environment."

Christie's boyfriend, Jack Whelbounre, is through to the men's 1500m short track speed skating final.
