The Denver Broncos have been handed a fitness boost in the build-up to the Super Bowl as running back Knowshon Moreno was cleared of a serious injury.
Moreno hurt his ribs during the final quarter of the Broncos' 26-16 win over the New England Patriots in Sunday's AFC championship game, with his last carry coming more than seven minutes from the end.
However, the 26-year-old's X-ray came back negative, and Broncos head coach John Fox has revealed that he would be evaluated on a daily basis.
"X-rays of his ribs were negative. So, he'll be day to day when we form back up on Thursday," Fox told reporters.
Cornerback Tony Carter is also expected to be fit for the Super Bowl on February 2 after his suspected concussion was discovered to be a pinched nerve.
