Report: Chris Johnson visits New York Jets

Former Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson visits the New York Jets, according to reports.

Running back Chris Johnson has visited the New York Jets ahead of a potential move to the franchise, according to reports.

Johnson has been a free agent since being released by the Tennessee Titans on April 4 and is rumoured to be wanted by the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and Atlanta Falcons.

However, his visit to the Jets is understood to be his first since becoming a free agent, and he could join Chris Ivory in the team's backfield should the two parties come to an agreement.

Johnson is one of only six players to rush for at least 1,000 yards in each of his first six seasons in the NFL, while he broke the 2,000-yard barrier in 2009.

However, the three-time Pro Bowler averaged a career-worst 3.9 yards per carry and had a longest run of just 30 yards last season, prompting the Titans to part company with him.
