Backup Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor has admitted that he is trying to impress his coaches to win a starting position for next season.
Raiders announced previously that Pryor would be given his chance in the season and the QB has said that he wants to earn his chance rather than be given it.
"Right now I'm trying to win over my coaches, win over my teammates and everybody in the facility," NBC Sport quotes Pryor as saying. "I want to be a leader, a great leader and I intend to be there for the long haul.
"I feel like I can extend plays and you don't know what you're going to get from me as a QB from a defensive perspective. They don't know if I will run the ball or hold on to it to get a little extra time [for the pass]."
Pryor has made four appearances since his debut season in 2011.
