Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Kiko Alonso could miss a significant portion of the season after partially tearing his ACL, according to a report.
The 25-year-old was traded to the Eagles in the off-season as part of the deal that took LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills.
Alonso started his side's first two matches of the season, but sustained the injury in the first quarter of the Eagles' defeat to the Dallas Cowboys and was forced from the field.
Initial reports claimed that he was ruled out for the season with an ACL tear, but the injury was not as severe as first feared.
Alonso and the club are now seeking the opinion of Dr James Andrews to determine the length of his absence from the field, reports NFL Network.
The 25-year-old missed the 2014 season with a complete tear of his ACL.
