The British Olympic Association's chief executive Andy Hunt has confirmed that he will stand down from the position at the end of February.
Under Hunt's guidance at the recent London Olympics, Team GB won 65 medals - 29 gold, 17 silver and 19 bronze.
However, he will now leave the role at the end of the month.
"It has been an amazing four years leading the BOA as the host National Olympic Committee for the London 2012 Games," said Hunt.
"I will always be proud to have led Team GB at a home Games and of the fantastic performance of the team this summer and the way in which the BOA supported the athletes."
Hunt joined the BOA in November 2008.
