Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving has conceded that he may sit out the pre-season game against the Miami Heat in Brazil on Saturday.
Irving sustained a sprained right ankle in practice on Tuesday after colliding with teammate Anderson Varejao, but initial fears that the injury could have been more serious were dismissed by X-rays and an MRI scan.
"It was crazy how it happened, I'm just glad I'm doing OK now," Irving told reporters in Rio de Janeiro.
"I'm just going to get ice and as much treatment as I can."
The 22-year-old was wearing a protective boot earlier this week for precautionary measures but he was seen on Thursday without it and has been listed as day-to-day.
Irving scored 16 points in the first pre-season game for the Cavs in their win over Maccabi Tel Aviv last weekend.
