Kyrie Irving returns for Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland Cavaliers star Kyrie Irving returns from an ankle injury to face the Dallas Mavericks in a pre-season game on Friday.

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is set to return to action after missing the last three pre-season games with an ankle injury.

The 22-year-old collided with teammate Anderson Varejao in practice last week and as a result he sat out the game against the Miami Heat in Brazil.

"He is raring to go, and that's good," Cleveland coach David Blatt told reporters.

Blatt added that Irving will play in the exhibition game against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday and that he has no concerns over his conditioning after he played in the FIBA World Cup this summer.

However, the Cavaliers coach is concerned about the lack of playing time he has had with teammates LeBron James and Kevin Love ahead of the season opener on October 30.
