Danilo Gallinari has been ruled out for the rest of the NBA season after undergoing a second operation on his anterior cruciate ligament.
The Denver Nuggets forward initially sustained the injury in April last year, but it had been hoped that he would return before the end of this campaign.
In a statement, Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly said: "Knowing Danilo's drive and work ethic, we look forward to a full recovery and a healthy return to the court next season."
The Nuggets won 50 of the 71 games that Gallinari played in last season, but have won just 27 of the 51 without him.
