The Denver Nuggets will open contract extension talks with Kenneth Faried during the summer.
The power forward, who averaged 13.7 points per game this season, is under contract with the team for the 2014-15 campaign.
General manager Tim Connelly told the Denver Post: "We'll talk to his representation. I think Kenneth is happy here. I think he's really embraced what [Coach] Brian [Shaw] is trying to instill. Those are the type of guys that deserve to get paid."
The Nuggets selected Faried with the 22nd overall pick in the 2011 Draft.
