Los Angeles Lakers crushed by Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Lakers suffer a record defeat in their 142-94 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Los Angeles Clippers recorded their biggest ever winning margin over the Los Angeles Lakers with a 142-94 win over their city rivals.

The Clippers, who were designated as the visitors at the Staples Center, began to pull away in the second quarter, led by Darren Collison, who finished with 24 points.

Having already led by 31 points heading into half time, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin continued to push for the Clippers, as they outscored the home side by 16 points in the third quarter, allowing coach Doc Rivers to pull his starters out of the game early.

Pau Gasol tried to keep the Lakers in contention early on, leading the team with 21 points, but only two of his teammates also reached double figures.

The win is the Clippers' sixth in their last seven games against the Lakers.
