Gary Anderson has revealed that he is still adapting to the status of world champion as he prepares to face Kim Huybrechts in Glasgow in week seven of the Premier League.
The world number three will be playing in Scotland for the first time since defeating Phil Taylor in the 2015 World Championship final, and Anderson admits that he has extra responsibility on his shoulders ahead of the match with the Belgian.
The 44-year-old told PDC.tv: "It's going to be the first time in Scotland that I'm announced as world champion, so it's a heavy weight on my shoulders.
"I'm quite a quiet guy. I like to be in the shadows, go up, play my darts and disappear, but with winning the World Championship, it's been a bit hectic and I'm doing things that I'm not quite comfortable doing.
"There's extra pressure because you want to win in your home country and people don't realise how much is on your shoulders. I'll enjoy it a lot better if I can get the win, or at least a draw!"
Anderson currently sits in third place in the standings after four wins from six matches.
