Raymond van Barneveld believes that he can inflict Michael van Gerwen's first defeat of this year's Premier League if he repeats his performance that earned him a win over Phil Taylor.
The defending champion defied a 116 average from Taylor to run out a 7-4 winner, and the five-time world champion is confident that he can provide a tough night for his in-form Dutch compatriot.
The 47-year-old told PDC.tv: "I'm on five points now and it's a really exciting league. I've still got to work hard but if I can play like I did last week, then I'm going to give every opponent a hard night.
"I'm really happy with how I'm playing and with my darts and last week was unreal. I'm practising harder than ever before because I know now that if these darts go in like last week, why not every week?"
Van Barneveld hasn't defeated Van Gerwen since their meeting in last year's Premier League final.
